Current Situation

The two sides: the Pacific Maritime Association and International Longshore and Warehouse Union, have been engaged in contract negotiations since July 2014. Although some aspects have been agreed to, such as Medical and Health Benefits, a major rift continues to impede operations.

Both sides have taken actions to expedite the process in their favor, which has intensified the remaining issues. Lengthy delays and heavy congestion for all West Coast ports continue to increase, as containers have stacked up to the point of impeding loading and unloading operations. We have been following events closely and will continue to do so, in addition to relaying updates to you as quickly as possible.
